I am back at Weta Digital in New Zealand. Awesome! Nothing has really changed here since I left after Kong about 3 years ago.

It is still one of the most friendly and caring company I have ever worked. Really good to be back!

Before we got here, we spent a wonderful week in Hong Kong, you can find some photos here.

I have just finished a 2 months long duty at the MPC on Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I lit a few shots in

the cistern sequence and a few bulgy bear shots as well. I will publish some images as soon as the DVD is out.

After almost 8 years I was featured in the 3D World Exhibition section again. I remember when I was going to

the one and only "International Newsagent" in Hungary that time to buy my 3D worlds. (It was somewhere

on the square Kalvin in Budapest)  Soon after I subscribed to the magazine to get it in time, and not only in

3 months delay.

It was great to meet the editor of the magazine, since my good friend, Ben Vost on the 3D Festival in 2001.

Loads happened since, so It is a great honour now to be in the 100th edition again, together with such an

amazing artists as Paschal Blanchet or Meats Meier just to name a few.

As some of you might have experienced, the website was down in the last two weeks as I

have changed web hosting and domain name provider. Now everything is up and running again.

Good time to do an update then:

- I have uploaded some images of the shots I did on Superman Returns.

- Finally the first 10,000 BC teaser trailer is out, so I have uploaded some eye candy images from

the "Mammoth Hunt" sequence I was working on as sequence lead lighting technical director.

Only 26 days left till the final deadline of this show.

So, It took me 1.5 years to have 10,000 visitors on the site. Not sure if it is a good result,

or not, but I am kind of proud anyway. An another brilliant reason to have a few pint

tomorrow in the Ship.

Some other news:

- I am back to the MPC again working on a very challenging movie called 10,000BC

(ops, what a coincidence) as lighting sequence lead. Lighting fur again, awesome!

- I have been getting more and more emails from people all over the world, asking me how

they should prepare reels, CVs, cover letters for job applications. So I decided to put together

a sort of info page in this topic in the (hopefully) near future.

Until that happens, please check out my latest show reel.

(50 meg, Pal res.)

yes, the file is big, and guess what, the reel is short. :)

Almost an other half year gone since the last update, but I have a couple of very

exciting news now:

King Kong has been awarded with Best Visual Effects in Motion Picture Award by the Academy.

It was a great honour to me to be able to work on such an amazing movie what has won

an VFX Oscar. Being honest, this is something does not happen every year.

And an other good news is, my application was accepted to became a member of the

Visual Effects Society.

Finally, I have updated the page with some new stills from Kong, and three interviews

I had been asked for in the last half year.

So many things have just happened recently, this is really a high time to

have an update on the website:

First of all, I started working for Framestore-CFC at the beginning of January on the

Superman Returns feature as Technical Director. Secondly, it seems the award season

has just arrived. It was not really a big surprise that King Kong has won the

BAFTA for outstanding visual effects in motion picture, and also won a few VES

awards. Although the competition was stiff, the work Weta did on this show was

clearly remarkable. But, I am really glad that finally Kingdom of Heaven has also got

the well deserved recognition by the Visual Effects Society and were awarded for

Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Motion Picture.

After three months hard working and loads of fun I am back in the UK.

It has been a truly wonderful experience I had down under what I miss already

a lot. I got to know so many wonderful and very talented people at Weta Digital,

and I also had a chance to see a very powerful pipeline in working what helped to

finish almost 3000 groundbreaking VFX shots on King Kong,  helping this

movie to be the same milestone in the cinema history as the original 1933 version.

Besides Weta Digital, there is a very nice country down under called New Zealand,

and has probably the best unspoilt scenery you can find on Earth, but truly

the most beautiful I have ever seen. I am sad, I cant share the amazing feeling

standing next to a 2000 m high mountain in Milford Sound, or watching the peak of

mountain Remarkables from the top of Queenstown as the Sun goes down. I have

taken a few thousand photos, but watching these are still very far than experiencing

the same in person, anyway, feel free to look around in the Photography section for

some eye candy.

I have made a more general update as well in the resume and cinematography

section.

       03/09/2005

Just a few hours and I am flying over to NZ to join Weta Digital, to work on

Peter Jackson's forthcoming blockbuster: King Kong. I have to admit: I am

really excited, and also very proud to be part of probably the most creative

and exciting place on our little planet.

       25/06/2005

I have updated the KOH section with two new images from the HD trailer.

I also made small updates all around the site (Publications, links) Feel free

to investigate.

       10/05/2005

I had the wonderful opportunity to contribute to the magnificent director,

Sir Ridley Scott's latest epic movie, Kingdom of Heaven. I was working as

Lighting Technical Director on the show and was responsible for the lighting of

the digital army in around 20 visual effects shots. I have just updated the

Cinematography section with a few images were published recently around the net.

       08/05/2005

It seems I am a bit lucky in terms of my shots I have been working on somehow

getting released in the teasers, trailers or somehow just make their way to be

publicity stills. A maze render just has been released from the Harry Potter and the

Goblet of Fire feature, so I have a chance to show it to you.

         06/05/2005:

It has been ages since I wanted to come up with a new website. Something, what is

more easily manageable, than the previous was (see here). As, I have hardly any time

to update my site, my main approach was a simple design and flexible new site.

Hope you like it. More update coming soon, stay tuned.
